Where can I get (or how can I make) an electronic reset timer?

I have an electronic device that runs off of a 5V, 2A transformer plugged into a regular US (120V) wall outlet. The device seems to fail quite often and it's a hassle to have to go unplug and plug it back in. I'm looking for a solution that either goes between the wall outlet and the transformer or the transformer and the device. I'd like it to interrupt power flow for a second or two every 30-60 minutes. I guess another option would be a remote switch that I could control from either my computer or at least another room.

What I would do is get a short extension cord, and ***WHILE IT IS NOT PLUGGED IN TO ANYTHING, lol*** cut one of the wires (there should only be two to choose from), and run each end of the cut wires to a switch wherever you want to put it. Then all you do is plug that extension chord into the wall, and the other end to your transformer and Bingo, there's your reset.

On a side note, I'm guessing you're having trouble with your router? Same thing happened to me and I found it a royal pain in the ass to keep having to unplug it and plug it back in, so I ran a switch like I just describe to where I surf the net and it worked like a charm. Good luck
